Locul / About

AI on your own documents, without your data leaving your control.

Locul is a product of Ertiqah LLC, a US company registered in Delaware. We build private AI for firms that answer to regulators, clients and auditors: open models running in your country or in your building, on your documents and inboxes, with a record of every question asked.

Your documents, inbox and the AI model sit inside your boundary in your country, every action is written to an audit log, and the route to an outside AI company is closed. Why Locul exists

Your team wants AI. Your security review has three questions.

Most AI tools fail at the same point: the moment someone asks where the data goes. Locul is built so the answer is short, and the same every time.

Pass the security review

No outside AI company to assess, no new data processor to explain. Your documents and questions are handled on servers you choose, so the vendor questionnaire has straightforward answers.

“Is client data sent to a third-party AI provider?”
No.

Keep data in your region

Top open models run on dedicated servers in your country or on your premises. Files, emails and answers stay there, which keeps GDPR and data residency simple.

“Where is the data stored and processed?”
In your country, on servers for your firm alone.

Keep an audit trail

Every question, answer and data access is logged on your side. When a client, regulator or auditor asks who used AI on what, you can show them.

“Can you evidence how AI was used?”
Yes, from your own logs.

The person behind Locul

Built by someone who has sat through the security review.

Junaid Khalid leads Locul. Alongside his AI work, he spent years on the security side of the table, helping highly regulated organisations choose, deploy and defend the systems that protect their email, networks and data.

That work kept returning to the same questions a security team now asks about AI. Where does the data live? Who can see it? Can we prove what happened? Locul is his answer to those questions, built as a product rather than a policy document.
