These terms govern your use of Locul, including the desktop app, your Locul account, the Locul MCP servers and the locul.ai website. Locul is operated by Ertiqah LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account, installing the app or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use Locul for an organization, you agree on its behalf.
Locul reads the notes, documents and other sources you point it at, builds a brain of memories about the people, companies, projects and decisions in them, and makes that brain available to you and to the AI apps you connect. It runs on your computer and, if you choose, uses Locul's servers for AI processing, cloud backup and the cloud connector.
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity under your account, including through API keys, agent keys and AI apps you connect to it. If you add team members, you are responsible for their use of the service.
Your notes, files, memories and anything else you put into Locul ("your content") belong to you. You give us only the limited permission we need to process, store and return your content to operate Locul for you, as described in the privacy policy. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train AI models.
You are responsible for having the right to use the content you give Locul, including any information about other people in your notes.
Memories, summaries and answers are produced by AI models and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against the source note before you rely on it. Locul is not a source of professional, legal, medical or financial advice.
If you use your own AI provider key, your use of that provider is under your agreement with them, including any charges they bill you.
When you connect an AI app to Locul, you authorize that app to use the tools you allow, which can include reading your memories and, for the cloud connector, saving new ones. What the app does with that information is governed by its provider's terms. You can remove the connection at any time from the app.
Locul is offered on the plans described on the pricing page. New plans start with a trial; a card is required to start it, and unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and is billed automatically each period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices and plan limits, such as how many memories a plan can hold, may change; we will tell you before a price change affects your subscription. Taxes may apply depending on where you are.
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal or by emailing support. If a charge looks wrong, email [email protected] and we will work it out with you.
Do not use Locul to break the law or infringe anyone's rights; to attempt to access other users' data or our systems without permission; to probe, overload or disrupt the service; to reverse engineer it except where the law allows; to share, resell or publish license keys or account access without our permission; or to get around plan limits or security controls. We may rate-limit, suspend or close accounts that do.
Locul's apps, servers, design and brand belong to Ertiqah LLC. While your account is in good standing, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Locul app on your devices according to your plan. Feedback you send us may be used to improve Locul without obligation to you.
We work to keep Locul running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or without errors. Keep your own copies of anything important; your notes remain on your computer either way. We may add, change or remove features over time. If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the date above and let you know by email or in the app; continuing to use Locul after that means you accept the change.
Locul is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Locul in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
You can stop using Locul at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we must for legal reasons, and we will give reasonable notice where we can. Sections that should reasonably survive, such as content ownership, disclaimers and liability, continue to apply.
