How does the 7-day free trial work?
You pick a plan, enter a card, and pay $0 today. For 7 days you get the whole plan, nothing held back. On day 8 the card is charged for the first month, unless you cancel before then. Cancelling takes one click in the app, under Settings, then Billing, and there is also a cancel link in every trial email we send you.
How do I cancel, and do I have to email anyone?
No emails, ever. Open the app, go to Settings, then Billing, and cancel in one click. The same link is in the emails we send during the trial. Cancel before day 8 and you are never charged.
What counts as a memory?
A memory is one distinct thing Locul has learned from your work: a fact, a decision, a person, a product, a project. As it reads your files and dictations, it writes these for you. Pro holds up to 3,000. Studio and Team are uncapped.
What happens at the 3,000 memory cap on Pro?
Locul simply pauses writing new memories. Nothing is deleted, everything you already have keeps working, and your AI keeps using it. You will see a prompt to move to Studio, which is uncapped, and it picks up exactly where it left off.
Is there a limit on how many files Locul reads?
No. Locul reads every file and source you point it at, on every plan. The only limit is the memory cap: how many distinct things it writes down (3,000 on Pro, uncapped on Studio and Team). A file count was never the right limit, since a lot of files (dictation notes, low-signal docs) produce no memories at all.
Is it really local?
Your memory lives on your machine. Your files, and your dictations, are read locally. On Pro and up, your LinkedIn posts are pulled through your own account and then stored locally with everything else. The one exception is opt-in cloud AI mode, which runs on your own key. On Studio, you can choose our managed AI instead, which runs in the cloud on the best models.
Can I use my own AI key, or a local model?
Yes. On Pro you can run a local model or bring your own key, your choice. On Studio, we run the AI for you with managed, best-quality models, so there are no keys to manage at all.
What do Notion and LinkedIn unlock?
They are the main reason to move to Pro. Your Notion docs and your LinkedIn posts hold years of your thinking. Pro adds both as sources, so your AI knows how you think in private and in public, not just what is in your files. Both are live from the first day of your trial.
What if I do not start a trial?
The app is free to download on Mac and Windows, but there is no free plan: Locul runs on a trial or a paid plan. Without one, your account still works for the things that are yours: you can sign in, read your brain, and export everything in it whenever you want. The 7-day trial gives you the whole thing, including Notion and LinkedIn as sources and Locul running the AI for you, for $0 today.
